Converse Chuck Hack

Legendary graffiti artist Futura has designed sneakers with Nike in the past, but during SXSW 2014 in Austin, TX he hooked up with fans to help them create their own Converse Chuck Taylors. Making a special appearance at the Fader Fort Presented by Converse, the artist took part in an on-site demonstration of the Converse Chuck Hack, a creative project where anyone can take the iconic silhouette and make it their own. While helping participants personalize their pairs, the OG graffiti pioneer took the time to give us the inside scoop on his sneaker history and artistic evolution, while also customizing a unique Chuck Taylor just for us. A series of customization workshops lead by notable creatives in The Fader Fort during SXSW festival in 2014. Esteemed artists such as Futura, OG Slick, Aaron De La Cruz, Mason McPhee, Sterling Bartlett and Sophie Roach headed sessions centered on enabling anyone to take the iconic silhouette and make it their own. The workshops were a festivalgoer favorite as visitors were encouraged to unleash their imagination upon the classic with the guidance of acclaimed artists. Graffiti legend Futura did an exclusive one-on-one interview with sneaker aficionados Nice Kicks while on-site at The Fader Fort, explaining his long history with Converse and his creative process.

A long awaited event for every New Yorker, The Hudson Project will bring music, art and an outdoor experience to the backyard of New York City.

THE HUDSON PROJECT will feature the ultimate fusion of over 85 genre-defying musical acts performing on four stages set against the backdrop of the magical Catskill Mountains. Beyond the music, the inaugural event will feature a fifth interactive performance area at the center of the site highlighting local musical acts and performance artists/troupes; an art village showcasing interactive art exhibitions, regional arts and crafts; a selection of Hudson Valley-area gourmet food, wine, craft beer and specialty cocktail options; a wide range of camping choices from top level luxury accommodations, to pre-set tents with bedding, to DIY choices for the more adventurous attendees; a variety of transportation options: easy-to-use shuttle services from New York City and other nearby major metropolitan areas and local shuttles from nearby train stations.
